The New York Cosmos have netted twice in the second halves of each of their last two games. Spanish midfielder Ruben Bover played a big part in each fixture, scoring in the 72nd minute on the road against the Carolina RailHawks on September 28, then converting what ended up as the match-winner at home against the Strikers on Sunday afternoon.

Bover, 24, rushed into the 18-yard box to meet Juan Arango's cross in the 57th minute at Shuart Stadium. He exhibited fine form to deposit the ball in the net off a half volley.

The media awarded Bover his first Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match award after the 2-0 win. With the result, the Cosmos solidified their spot in the NASL postseason.

Members of the media will cast their votes to determine the Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match at every Cosmos home game. At each home match, the winner will receive an Emirates Airbus A380 model airplane with an engraved plaque recognizing the player’s achievement.

The Emirates Cosmos Man of the Match award will culminate in a season-ending Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award. The recipient of the Emirates Cosmos Player of the Year award will receive two round trip tickets on Emirates from New York (JFK) to Dubai (DXB) to celebrate a triumphant season.
